I am currently debating on upgrading my laptop from the Dell 9300 to the Dell 1505 (recent deal: http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=54385&t=394288&highlight=dell). Will I be getting a better increase in performance, I can sell my current lappie for about the same as the price for this laptop.

Also another note, I will be mostly playing FEAR, BF2142, BF2 and some other fps shooters on the lappie.

What GPU and CPU do you have in your 9300?

My Dell 9300 has the Centrino 1.8GHZ CPU and it has the NVIDIA 6800 GO (256MB).

Well, basically, in terms of CPU you will get a nice increase in performance. For GPU, you won't. You will still be able to play all the games you listed, just not at quite the quality you can with the 6800 GO. Overclocking is always an option on the x1400 though. If I were you, I would just keep what you have for now. Wait until DX10 cards get into notebooks, etc. The Pentium M you have is a real nice chip anyway.

I agree, if gaming is a high priority, stick with what you have now and wait, or look into a model with better graphics options, the e1505 is a significant downgrade in gaming performance from what you currently have
