Hey everyone. I'm looking for a budget notebook to replace an old Inspiron that is on its last legs. I like the feel of the Inspiron vs other budget brands and was thinking about getting another one. However, I'm a little confused on the different configurations. I do pretty light computing, so I was thinking the Inspiron 15 might be enough for me. However, are there other differences I should be aware of that are worth an upgrade? Chipset differences, build quality, etc.

Higher screen resolution could be a plus but I don't see that on any of the Inspirons.

    Thanks for your help/

I think the 15R is just the regular 15 with higher specs. The 15z is an ultrabook. If you're just doing basic computing, any of them should be sufficient spec-wise, but you could pay a premium for the thinner and lighter 15z if you value those attributes.
