My wireless card Intel Centrino N1030 seems to take a while (2 or 3 minutes) to connect to my home wireless router even if it's a preferred AP, it has SSID info and it knows how to connect to it before..
Does anyone knows if Dell has any wireless utility that i can use to improve its connection process??? I also have a Lenovo Thinkpad and it can connects within 15 seconds when i switch from ethernet connection or bring the computer back from suspension etc..
Thanks..

Did you try updating to the latest Intel driver?
-
Yes, i went and download the latest driver from Intel and i have verified the date...same results...it takes about 1 to 3 minutes to get connected...
This is my son's laptop and I guess he will have to live with it..
Thanks for helping.. -

Why live with it...likely you have a defective WLAN card.
Try with a Linux boot disc, if it still does not work normally in Linux you have a bad WLAN card, call up Dell and have them ship you a new WLAN card. -
Thanks..I might do that...i have a question...what will the linux boot disc does to fix this problem?? are you trying to see the WLAN will work with other OS???
I don't even have Linux boot disc but i am just curious to hear your thoughts..
Thanks... -
