    Dell 1420.. resume from standby issue in xp pro..

    In the last three days, my 1420 doesnt resume from standby. When i open the lid or press the power button , when the laptop is in standby, i can hear the fan and hard disk come on.. the power LED lights up.. but the LCD is blank.. only way out is to to hold down the power button and reboot after that.. tried the touchpad.. xp shortcut keys..

    I have a triple boot with vista, xp pro sp2 and ubuntu.. all is well in vista.. and the problem surfaced in the past 3 days in xp. i have re installed the bios, think i have the latest graphics drivers too..

    so any help.. am college kid and must necessarily have standby and resume.. as i move from class to class..

    So pls pls.. come up with anything to try to get it to work.. dont mind reformatiing and reinstalling xp as last resort too..
