I ordered a 1420 that I've yet to receive. However, yesterday I went to a friend's house and used his HP with 128mb integrated (shared) graphics, and his windows vista with aero lagged quite a bit. The "aero experience index" or whatever was rated 1.0. My 1420 has a 128mb DEDICATED card, but im still worried it might not be enough to run aero smoothly. Can anyone here with a 1420 describe his experience with vista so far? Is a 128mb ded card really enough to run it flawlessly? Thanks.

A dedicated card should run it fine. Integrated is generally crap.

Yh the 8400 GS will run it flawlessly. Nothing to worry about.

make sure you feed it with plenty of RAM. the onboard graphics can use a little help from the system ram.

Thats a pretty dumb thing to say, wheres your evidence? The onboard intel
x3100 is perfectly adequete and meets vista premium/aero requirements.
