Does anyone know if Dell has any plans of releasing a 13" or 13.3" widescreen notebook? I know that Sony has released the FZ series, but I like Dell much better for many reasons(I don't want this thread to turn into Sony vs. Dell). I don't want to buy a 14" laptop and 12" is just a little too small for my eyes.

Dell has no plans for this year to release such a laptop, maybe in 2007, but wouldn't hold your breath ;)

It's the Sony SZ by the way.

It's out here in Taiwan. I have seen it and tried it out allready! :)

Sony, Asus, Fujitsu are the only 13.3" makers I know of.

There are many other better notebooks than just dells out there. Don't be narrow minded and only look at dell, but take a look at Sony, Asus and Fujitsu. All their notebooks are built better, but might cost a bit more. ~$1500

I heard that companies like Sony load a bunch of preloaded crap software on notebooks. I also know from experience that Dell has an excellent warranty. I'm in the market for a dual core laptop, intel or amd, but as of now the only option around the size screen that I want is from Dell(I'm excluding Sony).

And Dell doesn't?! When I first used my laptop, it had over 70 processes running and about 20 pieces of useless software installed.
