Hey. I'm new to this whole "laptop" thing :p I've searched every pink laptop possible I think o.0.

I've came across this Dell 1520.. I've read a few reviews on it.. Just wanting to know is there anything pretty bad / good about this certain laptop?

Would appreciate any help at all :D

    Thanks ~

    BAHAHA, how embarassing =[ I said 1250.. Not 1520.. Sorrrrryyy! >_>

I would say its a great notebook, I own the Vostro 1500 (identical but in full black and slightly better build quality) and it has impressed me with what it can play and at what fps. The cooling on these rigs is great, although the heat comming from the left can melt many things ( i know from expierence) the componenets run quite cool. Get an Intel wifi card, dell ones stink.

Where'd you get that idea? I bought mine with the Dell [Broadcom] card and I've never had any problems with it, whether connecting at home, in school, or at the mall. My only complaint is that I wish I had bought the n-card instead [and that isn't the card's fault at all, is it? ] because it seems to have caught on here faster than I expected.

Anyway, to the OP, what are you going to use the laptop for? It'd be helpful if you filled out the FAQ. :)

    What's good:
    - Cheapest laptop with the 8600M GT [albeit DDR2]. If you're a gamer, this is good.
    - Solidly built.
    - Can come with XP [if you're Vista-phobic or you just want a generally more stable OS]
    - Good price/performance ratio.

    Bad:
    - BIG. HEAVY. But if you won't be traveling with your laptop that much, it's not much of a problem.
    - It's a 1-year-old model. Not necessarily bad, unless you're the trendy type of sort.

Well i'll only be taking it from my house, to my partners house. Which is a 5min drive from each other.

Yes i'm a gamer =o. I don't really play that high graphic games.

I'll be using it for msn, music, internet and games really =].

I'm not fussed that it's a year old, as long as it's pink and has a good gfx card i'm happy hah.

Ahhh gawd! I just checked out the Vostro 1500.. It's alot cheaper then the Inspiron 1520.. And yes the Vostro doesn't come in pink.. But it saves me ALOT of money o.o! So confusing

NVM I can't find the Vostro 1500 in Aussie, Only 1200 which is bad

1525 has less features. Also doesn't give you a choice of the better gfx card. I would of gone for the 1525, but I need the better gfx card =\

Out of the two, I prefer the 1525. Updated, slightly slimmer and I think, despite only subtle differences, it looks a lot nicer and probably, as it's an updated version of the 1520, a better laptop.

But that's my very unprofessional opinion. I was either going to get the 1525 or the M1530 and only chose the M1530 because... well, because I couldn't resist.

But the 1525 was an option. A nice laptop, especially if you don't have a big budget.

When in doubt, read user reviews. *grins* Definitely the best option to choose. Hunt around on here and see what others have to say about them all. Choose one you know you'll want to keep for years.

Did you order yours online or the phone? How long did it take to come in the mail? And did it all go well? I'm pretty cautious about that part =\

    Hi,
You can order the notebook: Online, by phone..whatever you prefer and are comfy with. ;) :D

The ordering process is pretty smooth barring any act of back orders, etc. How long it takes to arrive in the mail (be shipped to you)..depends on the "build" process. ;)

I, ordered my 1530 by phone because of my EPP discount (Employee Purchase Discount).

You want a "pink" notebook, and are looking at the 1520s and the 1525's. The 1520 is older vs. 1525 which is newer.

Have you considered the 1530? It comes in "pink" and is a nice notebook. I am a girl, I have it in the "red" and I just love it. ;) :D

    Just a thought ;) :)
