My 700m lasted me a good 3 years and I recently upgraded to the XPS1330. However I miss my 12 inch. I don't want to take the eBay route and buy another 700m. Just wondering if anyone knows if dell is coming out with any new 12 inch models.

The D430 and XT tablet are the only options that I see right now and are really geared to business professionals with no camera or consumer like functions.

    Thoughts?

The Vostro 1200? It is available in some countries and should be in the US soon.

Well, what 'consumer functions' are you looking for? The D430 is actually a hair more powerful than the 700m, but is lighter and more useful.

After further research it seems like the Vostro 1200 is the closest thing to what I need. Actually the m1210 was exactly what I was looking for but this isn't produced by dell anymore.

Greg, the consumer functions I was looking for was like webcam, media button, on-board dvd drive, etc. As I type this I guess the Vostro 1200 fits that category but it seems so thick compared to the m1330.

If I could describe what I need exactly it would be the m1330 in a 12.1 in size :)

The problem with the Vostro 1200 is how it looks. It felt "cheap". Plastics and design is a step down from the D430s.

If you need a 12.1 with webcam, integrated optical drive and T7* CPUs, the 1200 is the only game in Dell town.

But if i just need something portable and not too heavy on performance, and with a good reliability record, the D430 is the route I would take.

However, given the 1200's price tag, its also the cheapest 12.1 lappy around bar none. It starts at about USD$600 where I am (Asia Pac).
