    Hi,

I am planning to buy a Dell XPS 15 L502x and I see a new offer from Microsoft which states that if you buy a PC worth $699 or more (only for students), you get a Xbox 360 4GB free.

I am not a student and so I am planning to buy it under my friends .edu id who is a student, can I register the laptop still under my name? is it possible? will it have any issues if I go this way?my friend is doing his Masters, so he is eligible for this offer.

Please let me know ur inputs friends....

I believe it's possible, but it may mean that if he wants to go for the deal that he won't be able to. And I don't know if you're really allowed to to do it anyway.

By the way, be sure you get the B+RGLED 1920x1080 display upgrade on the XPS 15, listed under the "HD Display" option. Don't buy it with the cheap 1366x768 WLED screen. The 1080p screen is really good and displays a brilliant and sharp picture (and gives you more screen space due to the higher resolution, but the 720p/768p screen is washed out, lacking in contrast, and gives you a cramped workspace due to the low resolution.

On the USA website, $1099 model includes the 1920x1080 B+RGLED display, but the cheaper models offer it as a $150 upgrade. Use this coupon code to take off $100; use it to be sure you can afford the upgrade: 0QZNX8B2J326BZ.

That's wrong..and Dell would consider that fraud if they decided to look into it.

EPP is for those that are eligible to use it..ie. your friend, a person whose company participates with EPP, etc...

Thanks @edit1754 for the suggestion...I would surely go for it :)

@cin...I am not sure even if its possible to register the computer and get the warranty under my name by using a student id of my friend...leaving aside the fraud aspect..I would like to know, even if its possible to do it that way?? please let me know ...
