Do the 1520's have an option for the 1GB Turbo Memory? Would Dell be able to add this on if you call? Would it even be worth it if you're at 2GB RAM? Thanks!

Turbo Memory is overrated tosh. If you're really up to good performance get a SSD and some more RAM.

The Dell manual refers to it as "Flash Cache Memory".
Whether it's worth it - I don't know, but one of the replies to my thread suggests that it *does* boost performance a bit (and help to conserve battery life ?). -
SSD's as they are now won't improve overall performance. The can have faster read times, but the write times mean slower performance than current HD's. That's why Dell is pitching the SSD drives in some systems as more reliable, not faster.
Here's just one link, there are lots if you Google.

So it's not worth $25 ?

Everything I've read says it's not worth it...

There is a new Turbo Memory driver dated 8/27 (i.e. last Thu; the previous release was dated April):

I don't know if it makes a difference.
