It looks like because its already going to apply a 35% off coupon and you can't use both.

Actually, the coupon is not available for the e-value code. It is only valid with certain e-value codes. Like the other stated, you can have either the 35% off or the 750 off but not both.

These are the only e-value codes that the coupon works with:
    6VAFF -e1705s1, 6VAFF -e1705s3, 6VAFF -e1705s4,

You enter the e-value code here:

No, they are just different pre-configured models. Usually the highest pre-configured model does not work with the coupons. Most users go to the dell's site and choose the highest price system to customize and then try to use the coupons. That's where alot of problems occur. If you choose the middle or lower sytem and then configure up to your wanted specs, the coupons will work.

I know that sounds confusing so I've been working on a post to explain it a bit better. I've attached a screen shot of the E1705 customization page. If you look at the red circles, you'll see the e-value code that corresponds with that particular configuration. The highest spec system (which is on the far right) has an e-value code that does not work with the coupons. While the middle and lower systems have the correct e-value code. This is the case for all models. If you need to see what e-value codes correspond to the coupons, please see our sticky that Abaxter has created about Dell Coupons. It gives you a list of corresponding e-value codes for each systems (including desktops).

The bad part is that overnight they changed it where you can only get one option on the processor part. Hopefully this won't last long.

thanks sg. got it. but why do they do like that? isnt without the e-value code easier for users? why cant they just list all the options for that particular model and let user choose....

In all honest, I really don't know. It might be a marketing gemic. Several users today thought the coupons did not work because of the e-value problem, and therefore might have ordered the system without the coupons.

you can up the processor and not go with the
"Memory 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz"
you can get better and cheaper memory from newegg.com and save tons of money.... unless the 2GB memory upgrade in already included in the price aka free upgrade though
