I ordered an E1505 last friday with an estimated shipdate of 06/22 (2nd day business delivery - so it should arrive on the 26th).

I made a mistake in my order and now I've ended up with a year extra warranty, dell on call and a HD upgrade I didn't really need. Normally I would just reorder the laptop and save the $170.

My problem is though that I'm leaving on the 26th of june for three months to europe. De preliminary ship date at the moment is the 26th of june. I would reorder the laptop with next business day.

Any thoughts on what I should do?

De configuration of the laptop is pretty standard, the extra's/upgrade I have are:
    T5600 to T7200
    XGA to SXGA+
    Bluetooth module

If anything, I would call up dell asap or talk to them online via the chat support they have and ask them to change your order.

From my experience, I would never go by the estimated ship date and they have always shipped things a lot sooner then the ship date that they gave me so It could be on it's way out already depending on when you ordered it. So I would say, contact them as soon as possible and see if you can get it changed.

Yea I talked to someone from customer service yesterday and they said the only way to do it was to cancel the current order and place a reorder (which I though was strange because I was fine leaving the config the way it was and just changing the warranty options - that would have been $120 cheaper)

Call Dell and see what they tell you. No one here will be able to help you or guess what will happen

I think you'd easily get it in time if you reordered -- just an educated guess from my experience in ordering three or four Dells in the past few years.

For example, I ordered an m1210 on Thursday June 7 and was given an estimated ship date of June 17. Turns out it is shipping today, the 11th.

That's how it always seems to go -- they're very conservative with the ship date they originally give you.

Yea I went ahead and cancelled the order and reordered the laptop.

For some reason I ended up with an even bigger price diff between the two, a whopping $220 (even after I selected NBD shipping).

Anyways est ship date is 25th and delivery is the 26th now. I'll keep y'all posted.
