    Delivery delay of my Inspiron 1525

    Hey guys,
    Well I'd order my notebook on 22-Jul-2008
    with the config below:
    Dell Inspiron(TM) 1525 Laptop
    Street with Custom High-Gloss
    1280x800 resol.
    160GB SATA 7200RPM
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo 2.0 GHz, 2MB Cache, 667 MHz FSB
    3GB (1 X 2 GB + 1 X 1 GB) 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
    Intel(R) Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
    6 cells battery

    and then received a mail from them which provided me a link to track my order online where the estimated delivery date was 29th July 2008 now and status was work in progress then after 6 days when i checked my order status it was still the same and i called CSR to check whats going on with my notebook and they told me that I'll get it on time not to worry blah blah.....
    Now today i got another mail saying that your order has been delayed and next estimated delivery date is 8 AUG 2008 and my notebook is ready and is being shipped from factory and guess what there was no update on Dell's website :mad: it still says work on progress but the EDD is updated.

    Please suggest what should I do ?..

    Tracking systems can mess up sometimes... if it really takes too long you can push for extended warranty or something... if you're lucky

    That reminds me of the M1330 deliveries one year ago. The estimated delivery date on the order tracking only adjusted itself two working days ahead of the EDD when they should have got the notebook into a box. The system then put in a new EDD (typically a month ahead for the M1330). It looks as if the 2 working day trigger still applies. I hope the new date is realistic.

    Just called up CSR and they said your production is complete they are waiting for invoice bill to be generated and no bills will be generated for 2-3 days because this is end of month.... most probably will be getting it by the end of this week or next week :(
