    Delivery Date pushed back even more!

    Hi everyone!

    I ordered an Inspiron 1420 about 2 weeks ago and original estimated delivery date was July 16.

    I called them up about a few days ago to check up on my notebook to find out that some of the parts weren't there (and due to arrive at the factory later that day) so there will be a delay of 2 days. New date: July 18. I guess that was alright and didn't get that annoyed.

    But today! I checked my order status and now it's pushed back to July 23! What the hell is going on? I'm starting to get really irritated. I will call them again after this post. Lolz.

    I know most of you have to wait over a month to get yours and we all know that feeling of waiting and longing for our brand new laptop to arrive on our doorstep but imagine the date getting pushed back further and further? If they push it back one more time I am going to explode with rage. Hahaha.

    Anyway, venting done.

    I guess I'm pretty lucky, I ordered my 1520 6th of July, and I should get it delivered hopefully in 2 days. So took basicly a week!

    You should call them, and start yelling at them, just say stuff like "What kind of company is this" "I didn't expect this kind of service from you" "I am deeply dissapointed" also tell them that you need the laptop for work or school work. Make sure you yell though.

    Call them up and ask them for reasons... go rage to get urself more dell coupons.

    Snakize: Omgoz, wow! 2 days!! So lucky! I hope it comes in time for you. At least one of us will be happy.

    Uni is about to start soon for me so I want it asap! :(

    I wish I can yell at them but I can't because I have a cold. My head feels like it's about to explode, throat - sore as hell. I think all they'll get is a nasally voice girl saying slowly: "What the 'ell is going on?"

    lunateck: I live in Australia. We don't get student discount coupons or anything like that. Paid: $1676.40 for it after tax.

    Argh!! Yeah.. gonna call them now before their office closes. :mad:

    Okie dokie... just called them up.. Got a very nice guy name Lee. Lolz.

    I told him my situation and who I spoke to the first time (Tracy, who turns out to be his Assistant manager) and he said that there is still a part shortage but he will try to get it expedite it for me. I was like in my head, "What the heck is expedite?" (I looked it up on dictionary.com just then lolz) so I said, "Yeah, can you just try to get it to be as soon as possible? Uni will start very soon."

    He said, "Oh okay! Tracy is my assistant manager and I will work with her to get your laptop shipped to you asap. Thank you for being so patient."

    Me: "Hahaha. Okay. Thanks." He then gave me his direct line phone number.

    I asked him if he knew which part was missing but he doesn't know.

    I can't say I don't like Dell's customer service because both people I talked to were very helpful and polite.

    So yeah... guess I have to wait. :eek: *sigh*

    Ohs! Nopes.. I didn't order the 9-cell battery. Got the 6-cell one. I was kind of on a budget. My dad gave me $1700 and told me to get a good one and if I needed anymore money to tell him. I didn't want to ask him for more so cut back on stuff like 9-cell battery, that better video card etc. :(

    Hahahaha! Yeah! I thought I would get a jerky customer service person but luckily I didnt. I was reading about how Dell's customer service sucked and was really worried.

    I hate it when they give you attitude. That's when I give it back at them. ^^

    man, i bet the deal in my config really pisses you off for the price :)

    from what i was told yesterday online, 9cells are NOT on backorder, only the 1440x900 lcd for the 1420 is.

    dell highly underestimated initial demand, something they really screwed up on. it might cost them my order, thats for sure.

    im not waiting 1 month for a laptop, technology moves too fast for that.
