I've already formated and reinstalled XP on the windows partition of my hard drive, and i guess i've lost the partition remover application that's cited in SG's 'reformat your pc' guide. Is there anyway i can remove the partition now? I have a 100gb hd but only get 87gb of free space, so i guess that this partition is using up a lot of my space. Thanks for any help.

You can use the XP disc and go through the format process. Once you get to the partition stage, delete the restore partition. You'll either have to create a smaller partition from it or combine it with XP. If you combine it with the XP partition, you'll have to reformat. If you create a smaller partition, press f3 several times to get out of the Format process. Once you login to XP, you should see the smaller partition in My Computer

thanks for the quick reply SG. so if i want to combine it with my main partition i HAVE to reformat the entire partition? no way of keeping all my current data/settings and just adding the extra space? thanks again.

If you want to combine it with the XP, you have two options. Either completely reformat or use special software like Partition Magic, but it is a bit expensive.
