Just spoke to Dell customer service rep and checked their site. They just got a large shipment of 250GB 7200RPM Hard Drives, LED Screens, and Assembly bases and are no longer having any shortage in equipment for the M1530 at least. What does this mean you might ask? Well, chances are you will receive your ordered laptop MUCH earlier than your current Estimated Ship Date. Cheers!

Awesome. I might actually get mine now!

What about batteries? I spoke to a rep today too and she said that's the only part that's delaying me (the 6-cell one).

same thing with batteries. If you go visit one of Dell's manufacturing facility, they have a very very small warehouse (if you can call it a warehouse at all).
Actually it's just a very large loading dock. Esentially as trucks arrive, guys pull stuff off the palets and slide the boxes of parts into racks that are behind the assembly crews. The assembly crews turn around and pull parts off that same rack to fill orders. So these racks are the warehouses. Outside the manufacturing plant though is a network of warehouses that the suppliers own. This is where the shortages can happen. -
Ah ok that makes more sense. Thanks for the explanation.
Delays are No More. 250GB HD 7200RPM No Longer in Shortage
