Delay phone call from Dell

Ordered 1520 7/7/07. Estimated ship date 7/20/07.

Chatted with customer support and was told the Laptop should ship today. Had a funny feeling they were reading the same crap I was on the order status page. Got a voice mail from Dell saying that the 1520 was backordered and that the shipping date is now 7/27/07.

Anyone else get this good news today?

 

Yes. I talked to a Dell "supervisor" in the online chat and after a bit of chatting about it, he offered me a Dell All-In-One Printer 946 and a faster shipping speed once my laptop gets ready to ship. The printer sells for $99 on the Dell website so I'm a little less pissed than I was when I found out.

 

I got that call. Was supposed to ship today, but won't ship until 7/27 now. Ordered on 7/4

 

What were you guys specs compared to mine ? See my sig for all my information, although the computer I already got had a bad video card and I will get the replacement the 23rd.

 

Well Dude, I upgraded to the T7500 and my Date is still 7/23, though it has already been delayed once. I mean my order date was June 29th so I think I have waited long enough!

 

I don't understand why Dell is calling ya'll . I have never received a call from them here in the states

 

i got a call 2 nights ago telling me my laptop was going into the "build" stage lol.

 

I think if you complain by email, you get assigned by an indian guy overseas telling you what you already know. I find it quiet annoying actually cause he's been calling me EVERY Tuesday at around 10 PM. I was not happy when he disturbed me watching the All-star game (damn AL's streak).

 

Damn LaRussa for not putting in god damn Pujols...

I got that call on the day it was supposed to ship. Ordered 6/28, est ship 7/16 with the delivery date to be the 17th. They told me on 16th it would be delayed and now I am getting it on the 23rd supposedely. But it's possible I may get it Monday, the tracking says its already in Tennessee and I live in Georgia.

 

If its in Nashville then you will get on monday. I suggest you camp out and wait for DHL

 

Im in the states. They call me like every 3 to 4 days. They just don't like you.

 

Never can figure out Dell.......Got the original phone call Friday night saying order is delayed a week, you can call and cancel if you don't want to wait, blah blah blah.

Sunday morning I get an email saying my order has been shipped!

I wonder how many people who received the call Friday canceled because they have been waiting two weeks already?

Stupid set up.

 

Mine is delayed too. Not happy at all, I'm about to ring them up to say I am cancelling the order because I can get the same spec laptop for a little less cash at my local electrical store...

 

Wow, I ordered my 1520 after some of you, and I am getting it today.

I ordered it on 7/17/07.

I came to an agreement with the salesman, he said it will definitely be here by the end of the week... Fingers crossed.

 

Ordered mine on 7/12/07 and it's still in production....build stage. Yet some people ordered after and received their's...sigh.

 

Ordered a Dell 1520 in pink on July 9th. Just found out the ship date has been changed for the third time to Aug 28th. She needs it for college by the 15th. Have had no phone call. Any hints on how to expedite?

 

When my laptop was delayed to 8/28 the CSR I talked with (probably the most helpful person I have ever talked to and gave me actual answers, not generic ones) told me that so many orders have been expedited that it isn't making any difference at all. There are too many laptops on backorder and too many have been expeditied.

I'd save your breath, it seems Dell is so behind that it really doesn't matter what you do. It will show up when it does.

 

I recieved my Dell Inspiron 1520 in the end, around 20th August... 7 weeks waiting time. Bit dissapointing, but because I drove the price down so much I got a top spec laptop for a real bargain. Since recieving it I upgraded the RAM to 2GB, was no way going to pay what Dell was asking to upgrade!!!
