    Well compared to late last night. I noticed the delays (the longest being 6 days (and Midnight Blue) have skyrocketed.

    Jet Black Color with Matte Finish None

    Ruby Red Color with Microsatin Finish None

    still waiting for my Alpine White. Ordered July 6.

    supposed to have arrived 4 days ago, and no update on the order status (still says July 23rd.

    I swear that if one of these color delays affects when I receive my laptop.. ohhh Im gonna be angry. I've already had my order delayed once.. but I ordered well before these delays were listed on the website.

    I am glad I canceled my midnight blue order and ordered a ruby red instead.

    I ordered on July 8 and their were no delays on any colors that were posted...needless to say I am still waiting! It sucks....come on Dell....get your crap together and ship out our orders!

    I got a call from a rep earlier today, he said that most of the laptops (1720s at least) are pretty much built but waiting for the LCD screens to come in, not the colored lids. He said they would probably ship before the week is over and he is gonna call me if he gets any more info.

    Agent (CCare Elizabeth B): "Thank you for your patience. We have been experiencing part shortages with the assembly base of the particular system you've ordered. I currently do not have an updated estimated ship date. I will need to e-mail our manufacturing department for this and follow up with you once I have a reply."

    For me, it was the base. What would that include? I ordered a 1520.

    let's hope that the LCDs we are waiting for are of better quality than the one's people have already.

    I just had an unnerving call from Dell.

    They called me to update me on my Estimated Shipping Date.

    Now, on the 25th, I received an email from Dell saying it was delayed until 8/1

    Today, in Chat with a CSR, I asked him to check, and he also said 8/1

    So this Woman from Dell says "You have checked on your shipping date today, yes?"
    "Yes"
    "Well I am calling to update you, and you know that your shipping date has been delayed until August 22?"
    "What? No, I was told today that it was August 1st"
    "No, I am afraid it is August 22"
    "But the CSR told me just a few hours ago that it was 8/1"
    "It will be shipped by August 22"
    "Today I had a CSR tell me 8/1 and also update my shipping to next business day! And dell's email 2 days ago said August 1st!"
    "Let me check...My mistake. Your estimated shipping date is August 1st. I am sorry for the inconvience. Thank you for choosing Dell, we appreciate your business"


    I am wondering if they are calling people and -testing- some of them to see if they will timidly accept a later shipping date. Since I put up a fuss (because I thought she was just wrong, not because I was angry) she apparently left my shipping date at 8/1

    If anyone else gets this mystery call, please share!
