Overall, I'm pretty content with my Studio 15. I've had it for four months and it's been used almost constantly since it came out of the box.

Unfortunately, the keyboard (mine is the backlit version) is defective. The 'W' key makes an unnerving crunching/clicking noise most of the time and has a bit of resistance (feels like it's sticking). Intermittently, it will work fine but more times than not, it acts up.

I've taken the key off and cleaned around and underneath it. I've also used compressed air to make sure nothing is stuck in the mechanism under the key....with no change. :(

I contacted Dell and they will replace the keyboard under warranty, but I have to send it in to be repaired. The keyboard for the 1535 (at least the backlit model) is not considered a 'user-replaceable' part! In the past, I've replaced a keyboard on an Inspiron 1520. They mailed me the keyboard and I installed it in five minutes....but not on the Studio 15!?

Has anyone else had any keyboard problems? Installed a replacement keyboard on a Studio 15/17?
