This is reference to my Studio 1737 but it has more to do with
Vista...
I bought a Motorola HT820 Bluetooth Headset to use with my
Studio and I had a question about the playback devices.
I can successfully pair the headset and I can easily switch
it to the default device in the Sound options in the control
panel...and once I make that change all the default Windows
sounds come through the headset. But, if I play a video
or YouTube or anything multimedia wise..it still plays out of the
speakers...or the old default playback device.
To switch the device to work with the multimedia stuff, I have
to make the new device the default and then reboot the laptop.
Once it comes back up...THEN it will play all sounds through the
new device.
I noticed the same problem when playing a Blu-Ray over the HDMI.
Although I did not need to reboot to get the sound to play through
the HDMI cable..but once I was finished with the Blu-Ray, I switched
the onboard speakers back as the default sound device but the
multimedia was still showing playing through the HDMI. I had to
reboot to make the switch back.
Anyone else have more experience with stuff like this? Am I stuck
rebooting everytime I switch the default playback device or is there
something else I am missing?
Any help appreciated.
