I just got my Inspiron 1520, and I noticed a 65W AC adaptor power and a 90W AC adaptor. I ordered a Spare 90W AC Adaptor, but I figured the standard adaptor that comes with the system would be 90W as well. Can anybody confirm that the 65W AC Adaptor is the default that all systems ship with?

google dell 1520 ac adapter comes up with 65w as standard - but 90w is not bad, providing that volt and amp are within range
cheers ... -
Ok. So long as I got what I was supposed to get.
90w should be fine. Dell sold it as an accessory to the 1520, so I will taken their word for it.
Thanks, -
65W is the default, and you can actually use either the 65W or the 90W for your laptop. The 90W is for if you use a docking station and laptop together or else you will get an error message (during bootup) that will say there isn't enough voltage to power the dock and the laptop at the same time.
I came across this when I used a 65W on a docked laptop, and the error disappeared when I used the 90W.
Hope this helps. -
Thanks for the info!

Also, I think the laptops charge faster on the 90watt adapter. I know the Latitude D830 comes with a 90w adapter standard which provides a faster charge time than the 65w adapter.

Well... yeah...
That is really the point of a 90w adaptor. If it didn't charge faster, I would use the smaller 65w adaptor.
Default AC Adaptor?
