    Hi,

I am from Canada and i'm deciding if i should buy a Dell Inspiron 6400 from Canada or a E1505 from USA, I know they are the same thing but I want to know which is worth buying from. I hope USA ships and send the laptop to Canada (do they?) And I heard that the deals in USA are far bigger than the ones we have here in Canada. I currently need a laptop as I am entering University soon.

Here are the specs I'd want for my laptop:

    Intel® Core™ Duo processor T2600 (2MB Cache/2.16GHz/667MHz FSB)
    Genuine Windows® XP Professional, English
    15.4 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen SXGA+ Display with TrueLife™
1GB Shared Single Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ, 1 DIMM
    100GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive
    8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™Go 7300 TurboCache or the 256 ATI Radeon X1400
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps)

Everything else, I don't really care...

My budget is about 1300CAD after taxes or less, is that possible? Correct me if i am wrong as i am a computer noob.

Which would be a better idea, to buy from Canada or USA(calculating the currency exchange, taxes and all

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Thanks

Its going to be cheaper via USA, but I don't know if they'll deliver to Canada, but you could have the deliver to a friend(very well trusted) in the USA, then have him send it to you, or something like that.

I didn't use a cupon, so I don't know how long they last. Just have the friend buy the laptop as though it was his, then when he recieves it then he sends it to you... thats how I'd do it.. might want to get more suggestions though.

Unfortunately, Dell USA will not ship to Canada - you have to go throught Dell CA if you want the I6400. If you want the coupons deals (Dell coupons located at the top of the forum toolbar), you're going to have to have the notebook shipped to a US address.
