I got my Inspiron 1520 about 2 months ago, The day I got it I noticed there was 1 dead pixel, Yes only 1 dead pixel however Its kinda hard to miss because it is located right smack in the center of the screen. I talked to dell about it they said 1-5 pixels is within there standards and that they cant do anything about it. I talked to 3 people they all told me the same thing So I guess thats out of the question...guess ill have to wait till more pixels die if it happens within my 3 year warranty for them to replace it...

What I'm wondering is has any one else had this problem gotten dead pixels in the middle of the screen? Because its very obvious especially when you watch videos on youtube or places that show vids at low resolutions you practically cant miss it even if you try. When I play games I cant tell its there, And When i browse the net very few times I can tell but every time I watch a low reso video it shows up clear as day. so should I worry? Any one else have to deal with this kinda problem already? How'd ya react or what did you do about it?

I really shouldn't suggest this, but here's what I would do for example - and worked for me atleast in the past.

If you want your LCD replaced, you really shouldn't go w/ excuse of stuck/dead pixel, atleast, I wouldn't go that route.

I would tell there's other problems like horrible leakage - which I can't take pic since I don't have a digicam, and hear some wierd noice whenever graphics on the LCD gets intence. On top of that, there's a stuck pixel right in middle of it!!

Suggest the Tech that we should try a replacement LCD, and they will mostly listen to you.

Oh BTW, you can always end up with worst screen too. Seen it happen all the time.

Hope this helps, but let's not abuse it!

If I have a dead pixel, I will return the computer or return the screen. I can't stand a dead pixel in the middle of the screen, especially if I spent $1000 for a new computer. I suggest you ask Dell for replacement LCD using other reason rather than just 1 dead pixel.

is the pixel stuck or is it dead. if it is stuck you can run this program that flahes all the colors real fast and if you massage it with your finger while doing that video it sometimes unsticks them. however, if it is dead, its dead.

That pixel is super dead, black when a white screen shows and white when a black screen shows.

See if you can fix it with that pixel flasher program. I've heard it can cause more dead or stuck pixels. But if it does, at least you'll have enough dead pixels to return the screen.
