I wouldn't say I'm loosing sleep over this but my LG screen seems to have one dead pixel on the lower right side of the screen. It is only visible as a white spot/pixel on a black screen, and a black spot/pixel against a blue screen. Against all other colors, it does not exist.

Is this really a dead pixel, or maybe a stuck pixel? Possibly particulate matter? I tried massaging it lightly to fix and also some of the pixel software but it still exists.

Could anyone offer some advice please? Also, does the 3 year complete warranty allow my to call in a couple of years if this becomes a problem?

    Thx,

Im not sure if the warrenty wil cover 1 dead pixel. I know with most LCD TV's you need to have around 3 or more dead pixels before they will replace it.

If I were you, I wouldnt stand for it. It would certainly bug me. I'd call Dell and see what they have to say. Never know, they may replace the screen for ya ;)

I just received my Vostro 1500 on Tuesday with an LG screen. I have a stuck pixel (green against dark colors) on the lower left hand side of my screen.

At first, I was like you and was just going to "live with it", but then I thought about it more. I am a graphic designer, and that little thing started looking like the size of a softball since I stare at my screen so much.

I then figured I just paid good money on this system, why just "live with it" when I will probably regret it later. My co-worker brought up a good point. If I went into a store to by a laptop, and the one I was looking at had a stuck pixel, I would not buy that one if I knew they had back stock of one that didn't have a stuck pixel.

This is true, we shouldn't just settle on something. I called the Dell Resolution Center, and the lady I talked to was very, very nice. She never even questioned me even though it was only one stuck pixel, and I think their screen warranties require much more than one pixel to warrant an exchange.

Basically, she is overnighting me a new system, all while I still have my original system. In my opinion I had nothing at all to lose. If I had to send my system back first and then receive the new one, I would have thought about it more. She also said replacement systems have priority over newly ordered systems, so it should come really soon. I would just give Dell a call bro, that dead pixel will always be in the back of your mind and it shouldn't have to.

Took your advice, they overnighted a new one (LG). Installed and perfect! I'm glad you convinced me, now I'm definately sleeping good.
    Thx
