So back in '08 I bought the laptop in my signature. It came with no OS CD and that hasn't been a problem until now.

My hard drive is starting to give in, computer freezes randomly, clicking sounds everywhere, and many files are becoming corrupted. I already backed up everything that's important to me and am about to buy a new hard drive, but what's gonna happen to my vista install?

I went to this site and filled out the form, but after submitting it sent me back to this page. I don't know if that means the disk are on their way or what.

If dell.com fails me, how can I reinstall vista again?

Chat with Dell online and explain your situation. You should have received recovery disks though, so that's a oddity.

Thanks booboo12, I was about to do that but about an hour after I posted here I got an email from dell:

and also told me I'll be getting the disk in 3-5 days so I think its all good now.
    Thumbs up!!

I don't mean to hi-jack this thread at all, but seems as though we are talking about similar things, why bother making a new thread? Anyway, where do I go about getting Dell Recovery CD's for my notebook (in sig) keeping in mind im from Australia. I've had a look around, but can't really find anything. I won't call them up because I'm scared of the phone :) Any ideas?

You can either chat with them or email them. Just tell them you would like the recovery CDs for your system.
