My friend got a dell 8600 (after asking me for advice) and it has 3 dead pixels.

He's really busy with school so he really doesn't want to send the machine back in due to Dell's policy.

I told him he could probably get some money back from Dell (from what I've read on this forum) due to the bad pixels if he talks to them right. He's open to the idea since the pixels are on the edges of the screen anyway and he's a pretty laid back guy?

How much of a discount can he get? The notebook was already around 1k due to discounts he got. And how should he talk to the customer representative.
