I bought it back in November. There is only one but it is really noticable. It is about mid way down on the screen and two inchs over. What are the odds that Dell does something about this?

It depends on how many there are. There is a certain amount, that if exceeeded, the LCD cannot be sold to customers. If your is within the range, then Dell probably won't do much about it. If it really annoying, you can try to activate it, but it is purely luck.

w00t Dell Technical Support (Via online chat) Rocks! Although the system will have to be shipped out to them, they are bypassing the 7 dead pixel bull **** rule. This is the second issue with my e1705 (first was a DVD drive issue) and they have given me no problems at all replacing anything.

Certainly eases some fears about buying a dell. building desktops with dozens of parts for support, I'll admit it'll be nice to have one company responding to it all.

Wow, great thing from Dell to do this! Good luck that your new display is 100% OK!
I also have experience with the Dell service, my Kensington wireless mouse which was shipped with my notebook seemed not 100% OK to me, I needed to change batteries after only 3 weeks and then, I needed to put them out and in 3 times until the mouse worked again. Same thing with these set of quality batteries, so I asked Kensington and they told me I should try to change it at Dell. I called them and got a new one 2 days later. They didn't even want to have the other one back. But the new one doesn't seem much better, so seems that the behavior is kinda "normal" for this model. -
That is really good to hear!
