    Hey all

Tried searching but couldn't find anything on my problem.
Sorry in advance if I'm blind.

So my problem is that I have a dead m1330 (power supply blew up - replacement coming) with a rental DVD stuck in the cd slot.
DVD is due in couple of days and would like to retreive it without any damage to the disc and laptop. Any idea's?

Must add that there is no way to start the laptop.
Battery and power mains don't work.

    Cheers

Most notebook DVD drives have an emergency eject. There should be a pinhole located somewhere on the bezel of your DVD drive. Just take a paper clip that you have straightened and push it into this hole to release the drive and eject the DVD.

Yes, this should work (the idea given bey eleison). A DVD got stuck in my 1520 once and I went online to Dell Tech Support, and the lady just took me through the steps of taking a paper clip and slowly pushing it into the hole that is on the CD/DVD drive on the outside. The thing popped out and it worked like magic!!!

    but NOT for a slot-load M1330 lol

OP, what you can do is: 1. Ask a frd who has a Dell charger. 2. Removing the keyboard, palmrest to get your DVD drive out.

I think slot loaders may have an emergency eject on the back of the drive (e.g., remove the drive and there's an eject), but I'm not certain on that count. Considering I've never seen any kind of drive get stuck more than a slot-loader (car stereo), I'd certainly hope they have an emergency eject somewhere.
