After reading the forums thoroughly, I noticed several users mentioned having dark corners on their displays. Most said to simply "ignore it", so I did this for a few weeks. Then, after more digging, it seems this only affects SOME users, not all, as several people replied saying their displays were perfect without any dark corners. I'd like to get what I paid for. Dell is shipping me a replacement LCD which I will install myself.

After purchasing two separate E1505s which suffered the same issue (one worse than the other), I'm hoping the replacement does not.

Hopefully, it won't be too difficult to replace, but I'm a bit nervous. The online manual on Dell seems to make the process simple. Does anyone have any experience replacing the display assembly? Please notify me of any "gotchas" in the process so I can avoid mistake.

    Thanks,
    DJS

The original part number on my E1505 LCD screen as shipped was CF264 (Samsung).

The part Dell is shipping me as a replacement is JJ624.

Perhaps this is a different manufacturer, i.e. LG, which I've heard is "better".

My concern now is if I'll have to disassemble the screen itself to accquire the antenna, or if the replacement will have it built in already.
