Hi all, The $500 deal on the Inspirons is done! And, of course my procrastination put me in this positition. I was going to order this morning, had a "work situation", and when I finally came up for air, the deal was done.

So, doe's anyone think there will be another deal close to the $500 again? Or, should I go w/the $400 deal right now, and cut my losses?

Yeah, I know~ simply put "my fault".

Get an Asus Eee PC, they go for around the same price.

Obviously you haven't learned that if you don't jump on a deal when you see it, you might not get it.

Are you going to wait until the $400 deal disappears too? ;)

Simple, Black Friday (or Cyber Monday) is coming, most likely the deal is going to come back, just be patient (and ready) when that time comes... and when you feel that is the deal you were waiting for... don't hesitate, since that is the way Dell goes.

Just remember that these "deals" are mostly hype. Every deal is replaced with another deal and even though some deals offer more of a discount, Dell usually inflates or adjusts prices to keep things fairly even at the end of the day. Within a 4-6 week period, a similar or better deal almost always comes along. So there really is no "deal," just savvy marketing that feeds into our hunger for a "deal."

    Simic is exactly right!

    @ notknowing

why wait ? just place the order for a lappy with $1299.00 Starting Price and apply $400.00 coupon. By the time they'll built your machine ( usually in 5-6 business days) its going to be Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and even if you get your notebook before any better deal starts, simply call their Phone Department and ask for a credit adjustment. Remember that you have 21 days to try any of Dell's laptops and return it, no question asked. If in this monthly window ( built time+ship time +21 days) you will see a better ''deal'' simply ask for a credit adjustment. If denied just return the system for a full refund and place a new order :)

    Hope I could help ;)
