I can barely touch my charger it is so hot, it is one of the new slimmer blocks. It is seriously hot and nowhere near the temperature of my friends Vaio block.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

There isn't much you can do; ensure that the adapter isn't causing any damage to the surroundings, sitting on a carpet surface, or warping any desk it may be sitting on.

You may want to consider getting a replacement from the manufacturer.

If you are not experiencing the potential hazards, that Bog described above, and since it's still under warranty....You should contact Dell for a replacement, and soon! ;)

I'd hate to see with continued use, those things potentially happening

Call Dell and ask for a replacement. Same thing happened to me and they sent me a new one without a problem.

I could hold on to it, that's a light exaggeration but I couldn't do it for long, it's really hot like piping hot water which you can just about handle.

    Will get onto Dell asap.

So should these blocks not be hot at all?

because mine is way warmer than even my Xbox 360's

but I can still hold onto it

I have this problem as well. The charger block gets quite hot and I wouldn't really want to hold on to it for longer than a few seconds.

The other thing is, the charger or the battery doesn't always charge to 100%. It would stop at about 50% or 66% and it'll revert just to use the half-charged battery... Anyone experienced this before? I'm not sure if it's the battery or the charger...
