I just got my Inspiron 9400 and am having trouble hearing the actors voices on DVD movies. The background sounds are loud and you can barely hear the actors talking. I'm using Windows Media player classic that comes with the KL codec pack. I can't get Windows Media Player 10 to work for DVD movies (keeps telling me to lower resolution and color). Any idea's how to get the voices louder? Thanks.

PS. I think it's a Dolby 5.1 problem since 2 channel sound works fine.

I had the same problem, but I was using Nero's decoder. Try using a different decoder and see if that helps. If you want to, you can contact Dell's Tech support and request Cyberlink PowerDVD. They'll send it to you for free and you'll get it in about 2 business days. This is the default player/decoder for most Dells.
