This is a real n00b question, but it's my first DVD burner. I have the NEC DVD+-RW drive.

    Example DVD-R: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Panasonic-DVD-Rs-LM-RF120LU5-/sem/rpsm/oid/89591/catOid/-12895/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

    Example DVD+R: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Philips-15-Pack-4x-DVD-R-Spindle-DVDR4711-/sem/rpsm/oid/124142/catOid/-12895/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

Can they both be used for DVD video or is one video/audio and one data?

What is the difference between the DVD+R and DVD-R? Is it that the DVD-R can only be used once and the DVD+R can be rewritten?

Although they both can be used for DVD video DVD - is ususally used for DVD's and DVD+ is usually used for software and other things.
