I have an External DVD burner that I got about a year ago. My question is this. When I burn a DVD now, my computer needs to back it up onto the system and then ejects the disk and then I have to put a new one in to burn to. How can I set it up so that while it reads from my laptops DVD Drive it burns on the external? I'd like to get some use out of this thing. thanks for any help. Also I'm using Roxio. It's installing now lol...

I don't think there's much choice you have. I haven't seen an application that can burn a cd on the fly from a disc in one drive to a blank in another let alone a dvd. There's just too much inconsistencies there. It's a much more reliable burn to burn data coming off a hard disk.

Just make sure your hard drive has enough free space on it for the size of the dvd and let it go through its process.
