So here I was waiting for my laptop to arrive this morning as it was with the DHL delivery courier at 7:39am but DHL was there to make my weekend worse!!

3/28/2008 4:37 pm Consignee premises closed. Will attempt again next business day. Houston - Hobby, TX
7:39 am With delivery courier. Houston - Hobby, TX
7:37 am Arrived at DHL facility. Houston - Hobby, TX
3:33 am Depart Facility Waco Regional Hub, TX
3/27/2008 4:57 pm Processed at DHL Location. Waco Regional Hub, TX
4:55 pm Depart Facility Waco Regional Hub, TX
4:53 pm In transit. Waco Regional Hub, TX
3/26/2008 12:00 am Shipment Acknowledged Nashville, TN
    Picked Up by DHL.

I waited whole day at home for this package but DHL sucked again. Bunch of liars!! They didn't even leave any note outside my house which shows that they never ATTEMPTED

So I called up DHL at 4:45pm and told them about freaking lie and the representative told that DHL will attempt a delivery today again and I waited outside my home now so that I don't miss their stupid yellow van but it wasn't there.

I called them again around 6pm and the representative told me that the driver had left the area 2 hrs ago and something messed up between supervisor and the driver. STUPID EXCUSE like kids!!

It will be a long weekend now and I'm not sure whther they will deliver on Monday or not??

How can Dell let DHL handle their shipments??

DHL was fine with my shipment (actually better than FedEx, which they also use). I guess you just get unlucky sometimes.

I feel your pain. Simliar things happen with DHL and Dell all the time. When i got my xpsm1330 last week it was missing items. Dell sent the items via dhl. tracking says delivered but we got on package. the strange thing is when the laptop came no one was home so they left a note saying signature required so I took the morning off to wait for the laptop and it got to my house at 10:23 am. I called dell to get the missing items they shipped it the same day but i had to work. then i get home there is no note and no items .. I call dell they say it was delviered and provided me with tracking info to prove it. I told them i never got anything..... then i asked the rep why is it that the laptop had to have signature and the missing items didn't the dell guy told me to be asured that they will ship items again and I wont' be charged. its been a few days no word from dell .... no update on my account for tracking info...... no items.... Now I find that my battery only lasts 35 to 45 minutes.. i am told my 9 cell battery is on the recall list and THey (dell) will replace..... they shipped item but i never got it... there is no tracking info provided. ... i call dell and they tell me they have no record of my case and will start a new one.... i told them what the rep told me that it did ship... the new rep says that was a mistake it didn't ship...... what is going on with dell.....

I told the DHL lady that delivers my dull products when I caught her in a lie when I called in to ask about my delivery. She said she tried but there was no notice and I was home all day. When her supervisor called her to "re-attempt" deliver, she apologized. I told, please do not lie to me as it only insults your dignity and does nothing for me.

No, the next business day is going to be Monday. There is a Saturday express delivery but that is not for Dell shipments :(

Well I am suprised. After all the accusations I made to DHL representative, they have promoted my shipping to Saturday Express Delivery and my package is with the delivery courier but keeping my fingers crossed. I am still not sure whether they will attempt another delivery today

Recieved mine last Thursday and a day before it was estimated to be delivered and the guys who delivered mine was nice and waited for me to come to the door cause I had to put my dogs in another room. I had no problems once so ever with DHL delivery service.

Is there any way to be able to request who ships the product?
Most online retailers from what I can see do.

FYI, I had the same problem with a previous shipment. For 2 days in a row, I saw the message "Consignee premises closed. Will attempt again next business day". My brother was home all day long during those days, and I called DHL and ask them to verify the address, and it was being delivered to 5811 and and not 5911!

Knock on wood I have not had any problems with DHL. I'm waiting for my Vostro 1700 to arrive tomorrow. They delivered both accessory packages last week, no problems. The last DeLL system I purchased was smooth as silk no problems or complaints.

I guess each area is different as to how they process things and deal with their customers. My last system the DHL guy made a special trip and waited for me to show up.

Is DHL supposed to get a signature? When they delivered my laptop to me he was in the process of leaving it at my front door and said no signature was required.

I hate DHL. They gave my laptop to some guy with a completely different last name. Then a replacement laptop came, I waited all morning for it ... and I sat there refreshing the tracking page only to find out they guy left 15 minutes ago because he couldn't get into my complex WITH NO LOCKED GATE. BS shipping company, FedEx and UPS all the way. C'mon Dell, get smart. These are $1000+ laptops.

DHL never takes Dell shipments seriously. I guess Dell is not paying them much :D, I called DHL when they did the same thing to me and asked for the name of the driver and the supervisor. I told them that I need to lodge a complaint ;) and they gave me free Saturday express delivery :)

I agree, DHL is total crap. Today my laptop came by at like 9:30AM and nobody was home. Of course nobody was home, we were both at work. So they say it'll be redelivered this afternoon...so my fiancee is at home, and nobody shows. Around 7pm they call me and say "Sorry we didn't get out there..will you be home tomorrow?"

    Yeah we'll see.

The last dell I ordered from them, an E1505, I had to go to the stupid facility to pick up because they made some crap up about how they couldn't get a driver out there again.

    Absolutely ridiculous.

I live in a rural route, needless to say DHL has never been out to my house for a delivery even though online tracking shows pkg with carrier and "out for delivery" all the time.
To circumvent this total waste of time/aggrevation I have been calling in advance to hold the pkg at the hub closest to my residence, and driving there to pick it up. Its never been an issue, until now,
I have another XPS arriving at the hub tomorrow, and when I called tonight to arrange the hold/pickup,they flat out refused and told me I have to call Dell to arrange it. Their "service" SUCKS,I pd in full for the PC,its left Dell's facility, and they have the audacity to hold my pkg ransom and leave it sitting in a building all week?
I've had it with DHL and Dell... :(

Well, my m1330 arrived at the Wilmington, Ohio distribution center 4/29. According to DHL, today, May 1, they ah... don't know where it is. It was sent on Saturday, April 19th, 2nd day shipping.

DHL says I have to wait until tomorrow to see if they find it.

    Great. Thanks!
