With my delivery yesterday there was a slip of paper indicating much of the software, drivers etc were now being made available on a new Dell donwload store. I dont have the url handy but i think this is basically it:

http://downloadstore.dell.com/mydell ? not sure. I logged in last night and it lists drivers utilites and software that came with your machine. One interesting thing to note:
There was a column indicating a number of downloads you could make (all mine were at 3; I have NOT downloaded anything yet.) I think the idea is for customers to go to the site when they get their machines and download all the apps they want in case of rebuild at that time.

My webcam works with messenger after reinstalling Windows 7. I don't know about this "Dell Webcam Manager". Try downloading all of the drivers from dell.

click on start and then type Dell webcam manager (If u wouldn't have destroyed ur default system) in ur search box. this is really a nice webcam tool. u could do a lot of things. if u don't have that software, still webcam will b working nice as the driver get installed somehow. but still i m thinking that, Dell should provide us the DISK or it is suppose to b in their website, but didn't find.

Damn. I don't have it after reinstalling windows. I agree dell should offer a download of the application as I also didn't receive a CD with it. I thought it was only the driver you were after though. Thats why I gave that reply. Have you tried emailing them?

Any reason why your using Vista on a new 1557?

Anyway this was ripped straight from my Webcam Central CD that came with my 1557.
    Hope works.

It is NOT a driver. It is only software. After looking in my device manager for a driver version I seen that it just uses Windows 7 USB driver.

I called to dell yesterday and just now have received the main DVD. but anyways, thnk u soo much. i like Vista more than 7 cause i hate Start menu style in windows 7 and also there is no dreamscene option. i do have some other very important reason as well. whateve, i'll install windows7 in different partition. so i'll have both vista and 7.

one more thing i have noticed after being completely updated vista is, it's taking much time to show up boot screen after Dell logo disappear. even i had studio xps1645 for a week. and same thing in that machine as well when i reinstall the OS. guys any idea????
