I'm often study and working with Visual Studio, Photoshop, Sql Server Datamining, Web, HD movie and some game (like pes 2009,...)
So i need to buy a system with good performance, cool (not to over heat), work durability over 12 hour per day, 7 days in week
So which i should bought in which two laps below ? And Are these any thing i should change (or upgrade) for better performance (my limit budget about 11xx USD)
//To mods: It's y first post, and i think it may be in wrong place, but thx you so much if it can be in this sub-forum because i really want to be helps.

Studio XPS 16 by far.
-
It's hard to say.. memory is cheap to upgrade though and the xps has a better video card
I went with the studio 15 though.
try www.dell.com/may2 for a better deal -
The only reason I would avoid a Studio XPS is the heating problems. It's much worse for the 13inch than the 16inch, but I would rather not chance it if you are worried about heat. (I had my heart set on a 13inch for a while but decided against it).

The regular Dell Studios have better heat dissipation, but it does tend to get warm near the top edge of the touchpad. It has never gotten too warm to use as on a lap though.
Both would be sufficiently powerful for what you want, but I would get the 64bit Windows for both.
I just realized the Studio XPS 16 also only offers the older 3670. If they eventually updated it with the newest 4000 series, there will be a much better improvement. The 4330 in the Inspiron is about 65% better than the old 3450 for the Studio 15. The 4570 in the Studio 15 outpaces the 3450 by a large margin. -
I'm not entirely sure on this but I believe the HD4570 has a 64-bit bus width while the HD3670 has a 128bit bus width. Does the HD4570 being newer still make it the better card regardless of bus width?
Judging by his selections; wouldn't an HD3670 with 512MB of VRAM and a 128bit bus width outperform an HD4570 with 256Mb of VRAM and 64bit bus width?
Sorry, lol, I'm uneducated in the graphics card department. -
well some peopple are saying it has a 128bit bus. The hd4570 that is
-
The 3670 is still more powerful than a 4570, but the margin is quite low.
The 4570 is ranked like 64th on the notebookcheck site. 3670 is marked 61st. I'm getting similar 3DMark benchmarks (slightly lower) than the 3670.
The 4650, on the other hand, soundly defeats the 4570. The most notable benchmark is the Crysis ingame one. My results were like 27.6 avg fps for 1024x768 medium. The 4650 went up to 45 avg fps.
Complete Benchmarks (Mine are the 4570 ones):

If you're buying, just assume the worst case and that the 4570 has a 64bit bus. I am still confused on the subject though. -
I too am confused on the 64 vs 128bit bus question. However, I believe it is a 64bit bus, because it's not until you get to the 46xx series that AMD refers to them as performance; until then they are referred to as mainstream or value, which translates I think into 64bit bus
In reality, you probably wont notice a massive difference unless the work you are doing graphics wise is 3D modelling perhaps. In gaming terms you'd notice a big difference, but as it's been said, even the HD 4330 is perfectly capable of playing most games (although some with reduced settings).
If heat is your main motivator then I'd probably recommend avoiding the XPS line. They are performance machines, and typically performance = warm. If performance is your main motivator then it's the reverse. As the meerkats say, simple. -
Oh I didn't realize the studio 1555 only came with the 4570
I ordered 512MB, all I really want to know is will that extra ram be worth it for photoshop, video editing and/or 3d modeling? -
Probably not much of an performance impact ordering 256MB vs 512MB for that card if I understand Graphics memory utilisation properly; but I'd wait for someone else with a better understanding in this are to confirm this.
DELL studio 1555 vs DELL XPS 1640 which should i buy
