There's been some questions about how long certain stages take, so I thought this might be helpful. This is my own experience. Yours might be different.
They kept changing the estimated shipping dates on me, but the amount of days from when the order was placed, to when UPS will make the delivery, is 11 days, or 7 business days. I think that's very quick!
I'm getting an Inspiron 6000D, btw.
Wed, Mar 9 - order placed (estimated ship date Mar 21)
Wed, Mar 9 - order confirmed
Fri, Mar 11 - order canceled
* Note: I canceled the order myself because I decided I didn't want the Dell Nylon case.
Fri, Mar 11 - new order placed (estimated ship date Mar 28)
Fri, Mar 11 - order processing (new estimated ship date Mar 18)
Fri, Mar 11 - pre-production
Sun, Mar 13 - in production: kitting
Sun, Mar 13 through Mon, Mar 16 - in production: build
Thu, Mar 17 - in production: testing
Thu, Mar 17 through Sat, Mar 19 - in production: boxing (new estimated ship date "on or before Mar 25")
Sun, Mar 20 - shipping prep
Sun, Mar 20 - estimated ship date
Sun, Mar 20 - in transit, meaning "shipped to local carrier" from Nashville, TN at 3:16PM
Mon, Mar 21 - arrived at local UPS center: Maumee, OH at 5:38AM
Tue, Mar 22 - scheduled for delivery

hey matta2k, your experience of 11-days jives with what my experience has been in the past -- they almost always delivered ahead of what the estimated arrival date would be (which of course is to fit the mantra under promise and over deliver, makes you feel like they did better than usual in your individual case). Thanks for the detailed outline on this!
