I posted this on the DELL forums but it's pretty slow over there.
I ordered my laptop through the website last sunday, and it went into pre-production on the Monday. A friend of mine bought one a couple of months ago and said her order was with her in just a few days. I've been checking my order status each day, and despite the page telling me my order was in production on friday evening, it's gone back to pre-production. The estimated delivery date is wednesday, so I'm wondering if I have a chance of getting it then, even though it's only two days away and my order is still pre-production. Any help would be appreciated! (It's a 630m)

Since the 630m was just released, Dell might have received so many orders for it that they had to put it on back order. You might want to call dell and verify that everything is okay with your order. Generally they will give you a reason as to why it is still in pre-production.
Normally, production is around a week in the states.

Thanks for the help. Doesn't sound as if it will be arriving Wednesday, so I've sent them an email. It's such a pain just trying to find an email address on their website. Everything is either a link to some un-helpful FAQ or a telephone number.
