Surely you can set up an address on the other side of the border to have stuff shipped to you. A friend, relative or something - if you are that close to the border!

To tell you the truth I don't see much difference.

'Cause, when I oreder mine(7/27) I had a $250 University Discount Coupon(Univ of Tenn) on top of the standard discounts(it cost $1417) now, the same config is $1379, but the University Discount Coupon is only till 7/31.

So, u see atleast for me not much of a difference.

i live in Virginia (VA), and my state isn't a participant in no-tax weekend
if i order a laptop from Dell this weekend, will I still be charged tax?
is the tax break only applicable when you buy in store?

I assume you meant "is" a participant.

It doesn't look like Dell is doing anything for the tax free weekend for Virginia though.

Virginia's tax free weekend itself is officially only for school supplies and clothing and such (mostly items under $100).

But some stores are using it as a tax free weekend for everything (i.e. Circuit City and Best Buy), but this is their choice, not something they're required to do.

I'm in GA and bought a Dell this weekend. I read on the Web site that the tax charged should be credited automatically within three weeks. Are you sure I have to call to get it?
