Does anyone know if DELL offers any laptop (besides the m1730) with a dedicated 256 bit video card with at least 256 Meg. memory?
Thank you much in advance for any info.

The Precison M6400 is the only other one- it has a 512mb nVIDIA Quadro FX 2700M standard and a 1GB Quadro 3700M optional. LINK

    Thank you for your reply.
I went to the link you provided. Did not know the base can cost that much.
I know I was not very specific on my first question. How about this one: what video card will be the equivalent to the Nvidia 7900 GS and has it's own fan that DELL offers?

a 7900GS- equivalent modern(as in the past year) graphics card is powerful... and dell puts gaming laptops in its alienware division...

look at the chart on the right for equivalent graphics card

Dell is making it really hard for me to find a replacement. The reason I am asking is because I have an e1705 with a failed video card (failed before among other components). Dell decided to send me a replacement that is twice as big and heavy and I am not really happy with it.
Any suggestion of any current model that has 17" screen (not the m1730) that can handle occational heavy gaming?
I am getting frustrated looking for something similar. I have spent at least 12 hours and counting looking with no success.
    Thank you everyone for helping.

Thanks for the link. It gave me a start.
I ended up with a m6400 (pretty much loaded but without the edge to edge screen and no bluray).

The Studio 17 has an ATi Radeon 3650 256MB. Depending on what kind of games you're going to be playing, it might be a good solution.

I have a Studio 15 with the Radeon 3450 256MB, and I find it sufficient for games like Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Left 4 Dead...and the 3650 in the Studio 17 is more powerful.

Those games aren't really demanding though, but it's nice to know that it handles them alright.
