I waited over 40 days (delayed 3 times). With every delay I was offered something. I literally have a list of things including a computer bag and $100 off (I even have the case numbers).

I received my computer today with no bag and the original invoice. The customer rep said that they can only give a max of $50 to customers for the "inconvenience" of the delays. I talked to him for at least 20 minutes and then he offered to have his manager call me (never happened).

I am seriously considering returning this computer. Dell SUCKS!!!!!!

I'm calling my credit card company and stopping payment on the purchase and giving them every single case number.

First off...your an idiot. Dont complain like your the only one whos had to wait. Big deal, you didnt get the bag. Did you order a bag?...Does the laptop not function without the bag?

Second...If you researched a little, you would know that you have to call dell with the invoice Number, make sure you have the chat case Number(s) and let them know you have it in writing. Whatever the dollar amount is...they will credit back to your credit/debit card.

Stop having a fit and do what I just said. If that doesnt work....then you can fuss all you want.

If you actually read my post I mentioned that I DO have the case numbers and I am not complaining ONLY about the bag. I was offered $100, $50, $25, $25 plus the damn bag, smartass. Dell still refuses to credit my card.

Oh, and I did call with the invoice number.

That's not very nice. Sounds like he's done everything he can.

If you don't get any word from Dell soon, I would call my credit card company and explain to them that you've been lied to and feel you've been frauded. They will stop the payment, then Dell will get in contact with you, guaranteed.

I seriously doubt they will give you $200. I know I wouldnt with that attitude. I didnt say your were complaining ONLY about the bag.HA!

So...you recieved a product and you going to stop the payment because you didnt get all of your supposed (offered) compensation? Be glad you have what you ordered. Like I said before, If you were the only one waiting Id be mad too. But just be happy you got what you ordered....thats all im really saying.

The delays suck...but stuff happens.I think you deserve something....dont get me wrong.

Now, you can put the gun down. :)

The bag nor the credits are on the Original invoice. The credit card company can stop payment...but what good does that do? Would you like an invitation to jail? Im pretty sure credit card companies only stop payment if theres frauduenlt charges....such as Idenity theft...not because you didnt get some compensation for waiting for a laptop.

Why turn something so small into a legal issue?

Stopping a charge and reporting false fraudent transactions is not a good idea.

All Dell has to say is...you recieved what you paid for.

dell does not issue credit on the original invoice.. you have to wait to recieve the item then call back in and then give them the case numbers etc.. they at that point will issue a credit to you they did for me..

Don't go with Dell, run while you can. I ordered an Inspiron on 7/26 for my daughter for college...it's been delayed 3 times already....go with another company even if it costs more...it will be worth it in the long run...oh...and i'm still waiting for that computer...ESD is 9/10...we'll see....good luck

Im an idiot because im not intellectual enough to come up with a better opening to a statement such as, "No your an idiot?". Saying Dell sucks is your right to an opinion. Ive waited 37 days, i could care less if dell sucks at this point. I have chosen that after this I will not deal with them for a while. They make a great product....You know im right.

If they suck so bad, please explain to me why there are so many people on here buying from Dell?

And if they suck so bad, why are you buying from them? Kinda idiotic sounding to me.

Wrong. If Dell had not offered him these extras, I'll bet that the OP would have cancelled his order. So, to save themselves from losing a potential customer, they offered him more, therefore changing what he paid for.

You know what they say, "time is money". As such, it should be compensated for.

He may just waste more "time/money" by fighting it. You bet ehhh, thats nice. They cant change what he paid for. It would have to be on a separate invoice, listed as compt. Changing what he paid for would end up charging. I dont see how what you said makes any sence.

If the dispute is over the fact that the original invoice says nothing about the compensated items or $. Then you have nothing. If they just plain out dont want to give anything...then I see a problem. You also have to remember that these people knew nothing about your order, Im sure you called and they'd tell you this/tha/and the other. Which some was true but generally vague or even false to an extent.

So what makes you think the dont just say things to get you off the phone/chat? Hey, im not saying its right...but just giving you a different perspective.

The purpose of compensations is the keep the customer from cancelling the order they made with Dell. Otherwise they shouldn't even give them out in the first place. I know HP gives out compensations regularly without even having the customers ask for it because I ordered from them once and from what other HP consumers on this forum has said too. And yes time does equal money. If they promise you something and have you wait an extra week for an item that you could get elsewhere alot sooner, then it's perfectly acceptable to be angry over not getting the compensation promised. I concur with the thread starter.

does dell work over the weekend? if so mine hopefully should be shipping next week gone into production today :D

Just got of the phone to CSR saying i want to make a complait about my sales rep and how i was treated and at first she offered £30 as the most she could give than i inistsed on £50 and she went away asked manager apparently and agreed (although £20 comes outo f her wage??? hmmm someone else smell that?) and than she says "Sir i do not believe that you are satisfied with Dell about this situation is there anything i can do?" "If you cuold throw in a case that would be great" "No sir if i did that i would have to cancel order and start again" even though she offered me a free case as compensation ebfore i insisted on the money. They lie like **** and contradict themselfs all over the place you just have to be persistant.

than actually ask to talk to a supervisor and state you want X amount compensation (reasonable amount) they probably will say sorry we dont have compensation scheme than ask to speak to supervisor and that should be enought to get them to offer you something. You cant expect them to give you stuff.

I received a call from Dell yesterday to ask if I had received my laptop - I told him that I had, and when he asked me if I had any other questions, I asked him about the free "$149 value" Timbuk2 bag and the $50 credit that I had been offered for my problems. He told me that they didn't offer credit, and that he would have to look into the bag. I explained to him (keeping my temper in check :) ) that I had chat logs email from Dell that confirmed that their reps had given them to me. He was still struggling, so I told him that I would accept a 9 cell battery instead of the $50 credit - he said that it was not available, and after some more discussions away from the phone, agreed to send me my $50 credit. He was kind enough to ship me the bag via NBD delivery (which was nice of him) and that was that.
Dell should honour anything that has been promised, and if you have the chats as proof, I don't see how they could get out of sending them to you!
    Just my opinion :)
I hope that you get your stuff!

I have the SAME issue! They promised overnight, and it even said that on my account, yet the tracking on DHL says GROUND. Good GOD what is Dell's problem?? This is only like the 3rd or 4th time I have been lied to by this company. Way to set the record Dell!
