    Hi!

I'm looking to buy a laptop for my mom. The 1525 looks very good, considering her needs. I'm looking mainly for a reliable, fast (for Vista -- not much gaming) and futureproof laptop (she won't change it for 3-4 years).

    Just some questions though.

    Is the Hard Drive fast/reliable considering it's a 5400RPM?
Is the Core 2 Duo T7250 good enough (for futureproofing purposes)?
I have a wireless N router. Should I buy Dell's N Wireless WiFi card? Is it going to change its speed?

    I know there's a review, but I'd rather have your comments :)

    Thank you!

The 5400rpm hard drives are your best option for her. They are perfectly fine.

The T7250 is a great processor, maybe even overkill for your mom (i run a 5470 ... 1.6ghz and its plenty fine).

What wireless N router do you have? It maybe worth it to upgrade to the Intel wireless N card. N will make the laptop faster for transferring files BETWEEN networked computer, but it wont make a difference for surfing the internet. You may get a little better range, but it wont make web pages load faster.

I have a Belkin Draft-N F5D8233-4 Router. Would it be nice?

As for the transfers themselves, let's say I want to transfer file from my PC to the laptop (supposing she has a N Card), at what speed will it go?

Furthermore, will the transfer count towards my Download/Upload monthly limit?

As for the card, what's the difference between the Intel Next-Gen Wireless N Mini Card and the Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless N Mini Card? They're the same price but do they perform the "same way"? Is one better than the other?

Is an HDMI wire included with the laptop?

    A Big Thank You!
