just wondered what drivers you all use ?

i did the thing on the nvidea site and it said i had to download them from dell ??

and the latest dell ones i put on last night, and my clal of duty 4 started to lock up after 10 mins, kind of froze for 20 secs, then goes to the pause menu, and then i resume, when i quit out i get the video cards recovered message , that i saw somewhere else in a thread on here somewhere, not sure if its just cod4, but thats the only game ive got on at mo, i played it quick before i updated the drivers on the ones that were installed already, and it didnt lock up, but probably didnt play it long enough so im not sure

or can you just use the nvidea site ones for the desktop 8600gt or what the problem is ?

can anyone tell me what drivers they use and where to get the best most stable ones from please !!!

also is there anything that auto sets up the nvidea settings for cod4 and games ??

ive had ati graphics on my machines for the last few years,so dont know about nvidea !

i got rivatune and ntune downloaded , are they any good ?

    thanks !

I have the same problem as the original poster. However, every time I go the nvidia website or the one you guys just posted and download their drivers, I get in installation error message like......"cannot locate any compatitable drivers for your hardware"

Anyone else had or have this happen too?

The drivers on the nvidia website are for desktop drivers. Use the lv2go drivers with the modded .INF(this will allow the driver to work with your laptops video card)

Here is an install guide with pictures.

What are some recent good drivers that let me overclock my 8600M GT (1520)?

The 169.xx series allows overclocking. Works with RivaTuner.

On the laptopvideo2go forums, I've read that overclocking with 169.04 is no problem, while people with 169.09 or 169.12 have had mixed results. Also, there doesn't seem to be a big difference between 169.04 and 169.09, so if you'd like to overclock, I'd stick with 169.04.
