    Hi!

at my workplace, we are using many Dells 6000 series laptops.
While we were on Windows 7, they all worked fine, however when we installed Windows 10 on them, they all start to have issues with sound. They cant let the sound out on speakers or sound is only going to the headphones. Also some of them are having issues with docking stations, "older big models"

Also we have few of the new 7000 series, and they also have problems, one is crashing while it ejects from the docking station or connecting to it, another have issues with picture.... monitor is gaining and losing connection all the time.

All BIOS updates are up to date, all drivers updated and Windows 10 updates installed.

Is here somebody from who is familiar with similar problems?

Happened with my E5510 (caused osu! to crash), try removing the IDT audio driver and use the generic HD audio driver instead.

Can't really blame dell for this, its Microsoft that's dropping the ball here since its supposed to scan for driver incompatibilities before the "upgrade".

EDIT: I'm being nice here by calling it "upgrade", they forced windows 10 on some of our deployed computers and have been breaking compatibility left right and center. I'm fine with their software "engineers" making garbage, just don't force it on people which ultimately puts more unnecessary work on me.

I'd say its more like IDT's fault for making a crappy driver for their sound chips. The same thing not only plagued my E5510, but also an EliteBook 8440p that I've fixed a while ago.

Yes, but Dell is the one who place these bad drivers in their CAB packages

Dell gets drivers from the chip vendors and puts them into their driver packs, the chip vendors are supposed to be the ones that are validating the compatibility of the drivers, not Dell.
Also, Dell has no obligations to provide support for end of life products what so ever, I'd say its very courteous of them to even give you driver packs for Windows 10 at all.
