    Just to do my due dilligance, is there a dell comperable to the IBM T42 1.7 dothan 15" screen 60 gig 7200 rpm drive 512 ram? about 5 lbs

    Yes, the Dell Latitude D600 would be your closest to a T42 as far as form factor, and you could configure it to be pretty much to what the specs are that you have here.
