I just checked out the US site and no, it's not there for some reason. They must want to clear out their 700m inventory first, before releasing the 710m to the general public. It should be on that site soon i'd presume.

I looked on the website in Australia for Dell, and the internal stuff is the same for the 700m & the 710m.

I cannot really see any difference, and for that matter the price is pretty much the same. I was under the assumption that the chipset and motherboard would be an upgrade. I see nothing dofferent, except maybe for the shell to a small degree.

Ya, the internal components are identical. I guess Dell doesn't plan to upgrade their smallest notebook anytime soon.

    Actually 630m is much different.

First off the most noticeable is the screen, it is now WIDE SCREEN format, the 600m isnt. It also features the Dell TruBrite screen technology, which is an optional addon, but wasnt available for the 600.

The internal components ARE NOT the same as the 600m, no offense but did you guys seriously look at the specs and compare them? The 630m features the new sonoma platform, the 600 doesnt. The 630 has 533 Mhz DDR2 while the 600 has 400 mhz DDR2 (with the exception of the celeron m of the line)

Right now they got a good deal going 799 under Dell Small Business for the Dell 630m, VERY nice specs for the price. The deal ends tomorrow night.

Oh yeah before I forget, it has the new Express Card technology on it. bye bye PCMCIA cards

No offense but we are also talking about the 710m in comparison to the 700m. Thus my saying "Dell's smallest notebook". Regarding the 600m and 630 or whatever, sure there are differences between the two, but not between the 700m and 710m; only cosmetic.

Ridiculous, just absolutely ridiculous with the 710M, words cannot describe my anger and/or frustration.
You morons could have at least put like a 5 in 1 card reader and the Sonoma chipset with GMA 900 graphics.

If i'm not mistaken, Dell is kind of just 'tying themselves over' until the new Yonah technology is released. At that time, or shortly after, we can expect to see changes along most, if not all of the notebooks' components. (Processor wise)

Those 'morons' (as you call them) could have done a lot actually. Could have easily put the 5 in 1 card reader and Sonoma chipset, as you said and the better graphics ya. Instead, they decide to just make a 5400rpm HDD standard (but that goes for all Inspirons as far as I know) and change around the coloring a bit. Sure it is still nice, but I guess Dell just didn't want to touch a good thing they have going for 'em. I guess adding that technology would have just added to the customer price affecting the overall image of Dell having a competitively priced 12" notebook.

And at Dell, the employees weren't too excited about this machine at the time of release either. So it wasn't really meant to be a big transition, more of a slight adjustment, I suppose.

    I was talking to Notebookinfobuyer.

However, the Express Card on this notebook was the first time I saw it on a Dell laptop, I dont look much into things like that as I dont even use the pcmcia's I have now.

I don't understand why the 630m is not listed on the home site.
