Going to buy a new laptop very shortly...
currently I am looking at the Dell 600m configured as follows:
Pentium M 725 1.6 ghz
512 RAM
60 gb hd
64 mb radeon 9000 with SXGA+ monitor
extra battery in modular bay
cd rw/dvd combo drive
intel 2200 wireless card and bluetooth capabilities
This all comes out to 1700 dollars however there is a 10% coupon out and a 150$ discount which drives it down to a more forgiving 1380$ which is around what I want to spend...
Given the specs you can see what I want: good battery life, good image quality, definitly a Pentium M, and 60 gb drive is minimal
Any suggestions? 700m or 600m? I also hear that the 700m's reflective quality of the screen is detrimental? Please help!

The problem I had with the 700m is that the battery life was only 2 hours, for a supposedly mobile laptop that's not very good. I got up to 3.5 hours with the 600m.
The 700m was overall more portable and I preferred the screen, but the 600m had better battery life and the screen was non-reflective (if that bothers you) and the 600m keyboard was easier to use. Check out our review tab, we have reviews for both of these laptops. -
have you seen a 600m in person? i think it is ugly as hell, not only that. the screen is duller then generic LCDs!
on top of that, it feels very plastic-like, almost like a child toys.
i dunno, i know people who LOVe there 600M, but with all the other lappys now from HP, compaq, even gateway/emachine. i think there are better options.
ipersonally like the 700m alot and if i can get it under 900 including tax i would get it. the extended battery helps alot, and IMO doesnt stick out that bad.
