    DELL 1525 inspiron broken screen help

    hi all i got a dell1525 which all worked fine kids broke the screen, it has a hdmi lead out on it so i connected it to my tv which has a pc channel but when i go to hdmi 1 it just stays black screen on the tv i have also tryed a vga lead with the same effect even pressing the fn key and f8 is there a way i can get some picture or test as the laptop seems to boot up fine and id like to just buy a new screen rather then bin it

    I bought my 1525 a new screen on ebay and replaced it myself. A bit of googling and a screwdriver was all it took. It's easier than you think. Just keep track of which screws go where.

    Try testing the laptop with the external display connected and the internal screen disconnected. I've found that sometimes Dells with broken screens are pretty stubborn about displaying to those broken screens. If you still don't get a picture, the laptop might be hosed. How was the screen broken? Was it dropped?
