Anybody know of any creditable rumors or solid information concerning D830s with 4:3 screens in either 14" or 15"?

    Thanks!

Why anyone would want a 4:3 screen is beyond me. After having widescreen on the last 2 laptops and on all my desktops I could never go back.

The D830 is a widescreen notebook...there is no 4:3 equivalent.

Before the Santa Rosa releases came out (last month or so), the 4:3 counterpart to the D820 would have been the D520, which came in 14" or 15" (non-widescreen) versions, and is still available as a non-Santa Rosa laptop. As I recall there is no D530 right now, and I'm not sure if there is one planned. I'm not saying that the D820 was exactly comparable to the D520, but they were wide/non-wide cousins during the "Dx20" era, so that would be the thing to look for during the Dx30 era I suppose. Not sure if that helps or not....
